POSITION SUMMARY

Prepares various Federal and State returns, schedules and forms in accordance with federal and state requirements to meet the time sensitive needs of both our legal representatives and their clients. Determine tax liability for individuals or business firms according to prescribed laws and regulations.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



? Prepare individual and corporate income tax returns and sales and excise tax returns.

? Review filed tax returns to determine whether claimed tax credits and deductions are allowed by law.

? Maintain knowledge of tax code changes, and of accounting procedures and theory to properly evaluate information.

? Maintain records for each case, including contacts, telephone numbers, and actions taken.

? Contact clients to address discrepancies and to request supporting documentation.

? Confer with taxpayers or their representatives to discuss the issues, laws, and regulations involved in returns, and to resolve problems with returns.

? Answer questions from taxpayers and assist them in completing tax forms.

? Check tax forms to verify that names and taxpayer identification numbers are correct, that computations have been performed correctly, or that amounts match those on supporting documentation.

? Enter tax return information into computers for processing.

? Conduct investigations of income tax returns to verify information or to amend tax liabilities.



POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have an in depth knowledge of tax preparation, complex technical topics and specialized information. Excellent communication skills will allow them to communicate and educate internal and external customers as needed. They will perform with a highest degree of accuracy, be very detail oriented and organized. The ideal candidate is always focused on customer service and implements research and analytical skills to provide the best end results for our clients. Candidates must be dependable, adaptable and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Only candidates who possess strong work ethics and interpersonal skills will be considered.



SKILLS & ABILITIES



Education: Associate?s Degree (two year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field of Study: Accounting or Business

Bachelor?s Degree (four year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of

Study: Accounting or Business



Experience:

Minimum 2 years Tax Preparation with significant caseload

Minimum 2 years experience in Customer Service



Computer Skills:

Proficient with tax preparation software; prefer Drake

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

Experience with CRM desirable





Certifications & Licenses:



IRS-issued Preparer Tax Identification Number required

Current in certifications required to maintain credentials
