Innovation Scientist
AsepticThe Food Innovation Scientist role is responsible for product development initiatives for the company. The Senior Scientist will work collaboratively across all related functions internally, while building strong relationships with customers and suppliers. Work involves multiple product formats targeted to a diverse customer base, including QSR and CPG Categories.What You Will DoSupports initiatives from early development through commercialization on sauces, shelf-stable/aseptic beverage syrups and industrial fillingsLeverages cross functional partners across marketing, purchasing, operations, and engineering, to drive Innovation & Renovation projectsPartners with QA, Regulatory, etc. to ensure safety and consistency of all productsStudies methods to improve the quality of food/minimize customer complaints related to various products including flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, ingredient functionality, convenience, physical, chemical, and microbiological composition of productsParticipates in product innovation sessions and sensory and consumer research sessions with manager supportEstablishes an innovative culture for the organization by building effective relationships with colleagues both on and offsiteResponsible for staying abreast of industry news and trends to assist with forming product strategies as well as of technical product innovations to apply them to positively impact the businessAssists with maintaining a world-class laboratory environment, including management of ingredients, lab scheduling / functions, and the equipmentTechnical QualificationsBS Degree in Food Science or other related scientific discipline(s)At least 4+ years of experience as a food technologist/scientistProven experience and success working on projects related to concept development through to commercializationPrevious experience on sauces, syrups, and beveragesExperience formulating and developing aseptically processed productsPassion for food and culinary arts a plusBe willing to travel 25%Thorough knowledge of ingredient functionalityKnowledge of food safety principles and systemsWorking knowledge of regulatory procedures and requirements including FDA, USDA, etc.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsKnowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPointExperience working in SAP is a plusStrong abilities in Algebra, Geometry and StatisticsDue to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language**If you d like to hear more about this opportunity and others we are currently working on, please contact Kristine O Sullivan at kosullivan cps4jobs.com.JO: 282.23KO#LI-KO1 More...
