The primary responsibilities would be working with one or more Weapon Systems programs under the direction of a senior analyst to determine and meet their thermal / fluids analysis needs. This is a great opportunity for a graduating master's student. As a Fluid and Thermal Sciences Analyst, you will be: - Working with senior analyst and program engineers to determine program analysis needs and determining the appropriate analysis tools for meeting the needs.
- Driving the analysis throughout the entire process, from choosing the appropriate tools and collecting the necessary inputs to performing the simulation on internal computing assets and other computations as needed.
- Working with our internal materials group to gather or measure the needed material properties.
- Interfacing with analysts at various government sites to discuss and share analysis results.
- Providing detailed results and recommendations to the senior analyst and program engineers.
- Preparing detailed reports of the analysis process for future use of the analysis group.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering or closely related field and 2 years relevant experience or Master's Degree in closely related field.
- Demonstrated educational background or experience in fluid / thermal engineering science.
- Working familiarity with standard engineering tools such as programming languages (C++, Python) and analysis systems (Matlab).
- Ability to solve problems with incomplete input.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and respectfully work with others.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
