Adelphi is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide medical services at a clinic in Chenango County, New York. The ideal candidate will have experience in serving patients with developmental disabilities. Evaluate patients and offer psychiatric treatment recommendations. Conduct psychiatric assessments based on observations, interactions, and reports from various sources. Identify and assess the presence or absence of DSM recognized disorders such as delusional disorders, character disorders, obsessive disorders, etc. Ensure evaluations and assessments are clear, concise, and comprehensive. Collaborate with medical personnel and interdisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans and provide case management. Document all encounters, evaluations, consultations, and assessments in the individual's clinical record. Enter clinically relevant findings and treatment recommendations into the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Provide electronic prescriptions for psychotropic drugs when the individual's primary care physician cannot. Offer crisis intervention and monitor the effects of prescribed psychotropic medications. Maintain psychiatric progress notes, including medication changes and adverse reactions. Assist in writing and filing formulary determinations, prior authorizations, and coverage authorizations with patients' insurance plans upon clinic request. Mediate admissions of patients to psychiatric inpatient units when necessary. Review prospective patient transfers from the New York State Office of Mental Health.
