PRIMARY FUNCTION: Performs a variety of complex and routine office and financial procedures by using typing, clerical, organizational, data management and word processing skills with minimal supervision. Functions as Clerk of the School Board.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent, supplemented by accounting/business courses and three to five years of related work experience in progressively responsible positions, preferably in a school system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment. Ability to type accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed; proficiency with Microsoft Office, including word processing and spreadsheet software. Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting procedures and ability to use accounting software. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures; ability to plan and manage assigned functions. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision performing a variety of complex and routine tasks. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
