Job Description SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE: The DBI team specializes in the evaluation of damaged structures. DBI's construction experts provide independent recommendations and analysis to clients in the insurance and legal industry. Hard evidence, expertise, and accuracy drive work; communication and connection are the company's top priorities. In a complex industry, the company's mission is to bring clarity to every client served by DBI. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of construction, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering, as well as the ability to work in the field when necessary. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assist and perform in-depth elevator surveys, consisting of various types of vertical transportation.
- Analyzes equipment repair, determines the ability to repair, delays in repair, and evaluates the quality of construction or reviews repair or maintenance procedures.
- Documents equipment through photography and written notes.
- Creates elevator damage reports providing recommendations of repairs, modernization, and description of equipment.
- Follows established policies, procedures, and processes in preparing information, exercising sound judgment in applying these to potentially unusual or complicated situations, and submits estimates and documents in a timely manner and in accordance with client's standards and expectations.
- Reviews proposals submitted by elevator contractors.
- Prepares Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) using various software programs.

- Consistently demonstrates professionalism, integrity and the highest standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct; conducts oneself in a manner that reflects favorably on the organization.
- Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information, exercising sound judgment and discretion in any disclosure of information related to DBI Consultants and its endeavors.
- Commits to continuous improvement and professional development for self and team members.
- Perform all other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as mechanical or electrical engineering is required.
- Three (3) years of mechanical experience working in the construction industry and will have ideally worked in the elevator industry.
- Passion for and understanding of construction, as well as construction principles.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Willing to travel domestically and is not afraid of heights.
- Experience working with legal and insurance companies is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced office setting, as well as in the field.
- Possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. SKILLS AND ABILITIES
