The Emergency Nurse, reporting to department 26230 - Emergency Room located at 11190 Health Park Blvd, Naples, FL, 34110, is responsible for the provision of direct nursing care to all types and age groups of emergency and minor care patients. The role involves the independent planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care whilst adhering to standards of care, policy, and procedure. The Emergency Nurse will facilitate patient's safety, provide patient education, participate in decision making, unit committee, and quality improvement activities as well as demonstrating leadership in the professional practice setting. Other duties include using appropriate resources to provide safe, effective and financially responsible nursing services, ensuring environmental safety and accountability, maintaining emergency department specific certifications, monitoring cardiac rhythms, pulse oximetry, hemodynamic levels, participating in the orientation of new nursing personnel, cross-training to all areas of the emergency department, flexible schedule rotation, and rapid critical decision making. Candidates must be licensed as a Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Florida with a minimum of 1 year of acute care experience. At least 1 year of Emergency or 1 year in pediatric ICU acute experience is required. ENPC and TNCC certifications are desirable. Candidates without Emergency Department experience and new graduate RNs will complete the Emergency Department fellowship program, licensed and certified accordingly.
