The Material Handler II will operate machinery to sort, count or empty containers, process and record container counts, operate a forklift to move materials, and meet established productivity standards.Schedule & PerksMonday through Friday 1 pm - 9:30 pm.Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.401(k): OBRC matches contributions of 100% on employee deferrals up to 4% of your compensation.PTO plan and 6 paid holidays.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesObtain and maintain forklift certificationSafely operate forklifts with various attachments to move material throughout the plantSafely operate other equipment such as balers, conveyors, weigh scales, dock plates, and pallet jacksAdhere to all OSHA Safety Standards and OBRC policiesFollow instructions for operating equipment and keeping recordsPerform daily inspections of assigned forklift following internal process and notify Supervisor/Maintenance of needed repairsLoad and unload trainers, both with and without forkliftsTransport raw material to production workstationsProduce active logs of trailers, identify damage, determine need of repairUnload materials from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned places or staged for processVerify loads against the shipping papers, noting in writing any overages, shortages or damagePrepare material for shipment by sorting, stacking, wrapping shells and pallets, and weighing and tagging bales of aluminum, PET, cardboard and filmPerform daily housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and orderly facilityComplete other job duties as assigned and assist other Material HandlersEducation/ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED preferred, or any equivalent combination of training, experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform key responsibilities of this positionPrior forklift experience is preferredRequirements Skills, Job Knowledge & AbilitiesStrong attention to detail with a high level of accuracyHigh degree of attention regarding safety requirements to prevent injury to self and othersMaintain an accident free record. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. This position works around sharp objects and can get wet and sticky from full and empty beverage containers. The environment can be cold, hot or humid.While performing the duties of this job, this employee is regularly required to communicate. This position is very active and the employee will frequently stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The position involves standing, bending, walking and lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly for long periods of time throughout the day. Pushing and pulling of carts full of recyclable material.
