Tooling Technicians

Position Summary

Ensure molds are repaired and fully functional to optimize quality, mold utilization and cavitation.

Primary Functions

--- Disassembles, cleans and reassembles molds.

--- Replaces worn or broken tooling.

--- Utilizes production monitoring system to evaluate and continuously improve the mold preventative maintenance program on all molds. Properly document all preventative maintenance and mold improvements.

--- Initiates communication and interaction with Manufacturing Team to maintain full cavitation, utilization and efficiencies of the molds.

--- Actively participates in spare part analysis to develop cost efficient levels of spares. Maintains the established minimum inventory of spare components for each mold through coordination with the department Supervisor.

--- Supports the team concept by performing multiple functions as assigned by Management.

--- Performs preventative maintenance activities to the molds and maintains the customer's assets in peak functional condition.

--- Supports the QMS by adhering to the system requirements.

--- Understands and follows plant safety rules. Helps to identify and eliminate any safety hazard or concern. Assists in monitoring of quality of work output.

--- Maintains compliance with company policy and procedures.

--- Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

--- Responsible for reporting any problems or concerns to direct Supervisor.

--- Maintains good working relations with all other employees. Strives to have no conflicts with other employees.

--- Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.

Key Qualifications

--- High school diploma or equivalent.

--- Ability to use a drill press, pedestal grinder, and basic hand tools.

--- Physical skills necessary to utilize mold disassembly; assemble tools and handle molds.

--- Self-motivated to learn and perform job tasks to meet or exceed customer and company expectations.

--- Demonstrates the capacity to work at an efficient rate to meet production goals and standards.

--- Effectively communicates with others both verbally and in writing.
