Duties & Responsibilities

THE HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEER WILL:

--- Understands human interfaces with complex systems Experienced with Human Computer or Human Robotic Interfaces.
--- Ability to assess human interfaces for usability, cognitive ease, and other important factors Knowledge of best practices in human-centered design.
--- Some software experience preferred.
--- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

--- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
--- Experience with software veri -cation and validation processes Experience with complex distributed systems.

EXPERIENCE WITH ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:

--- Human performance.
--- Human interface.
--- Human error avoidance.
--- Design for usability.
--- Design for maintainability.
--- Accident avoidance.
--- Safety hazard avoidance.
--- Risk mitigation.
--- Environmental limits & controls.
--- Experience with autonomous systems.
--- Experience with mission and safety critical systems.
--- Remote operations experience.
--- Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude.

REQUISITION PREFERENCES:

--- Spacecraft Avionics and Software Architecture experience. NASA software and systems development standards.

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency maybe a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
