Possess American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) orAmerican Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved continuing medicaleducation of at least 12 hours within the last 12 months. Experience as a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer of at least two (2) years within thepreceding four (4) years. Experience with 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, Colorflow, Bubble Study, and contrastmedia. Experience must have been obtained following completion of a program inEchocardiography accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). (The experience can be conveyed through transcripts, resumes,publications, letters of recommendation, etc.)Must be U.S. Citizen.Duties: Prepare patients for tests and explain procedures to obtain patient cooperation andreassure patient. Perform complete echocardiographic examinations: transthoracic adultechocardiogram, dobutamine and stress echocardiogram, and transesophageal echocardiogram. Alert the physician to acute findings that will require emergent interventions. Provide preliminary test results to the physician.
