Job Description

• Works in a manufacturing environment emphasizing teamwork, safety, quality, training, and discipline.
• Inspects seats visually for cosmetic defects according to customer standard.
• Inspects seats for assembly completion (No missing parts and properly functions).
• Checks torque of fasteners/bolts required by specification.
• Reports quality issues to Team Leader and rejects nonconforming seats.
• Follows standardized inspection procedures and work sequence for each process.
• Works with Team Leader to improve standardized processes/methods, identify waste, methodically eliminate waste and standardize the new process/methods.
• Directly responsible for performance of assigned work area.
• Works in a team environment on safety, quality, productivity and cost improvement projects.
• Completes all working documentation, records and reports as requested.
• Understands and follows all SAIA policies and procedures.
• Remains proactive and reactive to resolve abnormalities in the process.
• Uses key performance indicators as a method of continuous improvement.
• Performs other duties as requested.Work Experience
  • Focuses on employee relations centered on trust and teamwork.
  • Experience with gages like steel scale, slide caliper.
  • Demonstrates understanding of customer's standard for seat inspection.
  • Focuses on continually improving skills as outlined during performance review.
  • Attends all required training as outlined on the SAIA training matrix.
