Job Title: Specialist, Project Engineering Job Code: 20139Job Location: Huntsville, ALJob Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off -Job Description: -Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Specialist Project Engineer for -our Huntsville, AL Headquarters location. The Specialist Project Engineer role involves performing and/or coordinating propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management. Under -general -direction, you will be responsible for implementing design and analysis tasks and overseeing special studies and experiments. Additionally, you will coordinate ballistic, thermal, and structural analyses, as well as perform post-test examination, analyses, and reporting while supporting the program technical lead. -Essential Functions: -

• Provide imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the conventional utilization of engineering techniques
• Read, interpret, and write specifications and technical documents
• Prepare technical and design requirements in support of project goals
• Keep current in relevant technologies and methods in support of project assignments
• Provide direction in problem investigations and resolution across functional areas
• Understanding and/or leads Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process
• May be assigned Earned Value Management duties
• Travel: 10%
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance -Qualifications: -
• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior Project Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior Project Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Project Engineering experience. -Preferred Additional Skills: -
  • Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with solid propellant propulsion projects is highly desired
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical professionals at all levels
  • CAD knowledge is desirable
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) is desired
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is desired
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, in a collaborative, dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment
  • Strong time management skills
