Certification Details

  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, Friday and Saturday for Nights, Saturday and Sunday for dayshift.

    Job Requirements
    • Need at least 2 years of ICU experience or 1 year of ICU and 1 year of PCU/Med-Surg experience in larger facilities with strong skills.
    • RN must take 12-lead EKG.
    • ICU patients, RN monitors per bedside Cardiac monitor.
    • ICU must monitor ICU patients.
      Schedule Information
      • 12-hour shifts, 0700/1900 - 1930/0730.
      • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, Friday and Saturday for Nights, Saturday and Sunday for dayshift.
      • Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly.
      • Call or standby requirement: If low census, staff rotates standby turns.
        Unit Specific Information
        • Number of beds: 10.
        • Ratios: Depends on the acuity as this is a combined acuity unit: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MST 1:5-6; if no nurse aid for 1:3 primary care.
        • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Medical ICU includes Sepsis, suicide attempt, drug or Alcohol withdrawal, COPD, respiratory arrest, pneumonia, COVID, DKA, blood pressure or heart rate abnormal, post-op complications.
        • PCU includes non-titratable infusions to maintain heart rate or blood pressure.
        • Nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: NAs take 10-15 patients. If no NA RN takes 3 patients and provides primary care to PCU & MST patients.
        • RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc.): Vents, Bipap, Cpap supported by RT.
        • Floating Requirements: Float to our EC MST & Pediatric unit to care for adult MST, float to our West Campus in Prescott to maintain competency in all types of ICU/PCU Patients.
          Additional Details
          • Charge RN manages 50 inpatient beds that include MST, PEDS, & our Acuity Adaptable MCU unit which admits ICU/PCU/MST.
