Date Posted: 2024-11-21 Country: United States of America Location: AZ852: RMS AP Bldg M02 1151 East Hermans Road Building M02, Tucson, AZ, 85756 USA Position Role Type: Onsite About Us At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling - to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. -We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. -Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. - The Flight Avionics Department within the Raytheon Electrical Engineering team is seeking an engineering leader with a proven track record in leading and managing teams as an Integrated Product Team Leader (IPTL), Electrical Engineer, and Front-Line Leader (FLL) for the full lifecycle product development of Electrical Subsystems. - They will lead a team between 13 to 20 highly skilled and early career engineers. - This leader will be critical in development and sustainment of key relationships with program leadership and within the engineering organization. The Section Leader (SL) for the Flight Avionics Department is responsible for performance and career development, goal planning, disciplinary actions, and execution of Raytheon and Engineering organization initiatives. - The SL is also accountable to the programs for their Section team members performance, including cost, schedule, and technical solutions. - The SL ensures that members of the section support product design activities in accordance with established Raytheon engineering design practices, interacts with cross-functional teams, and partners with the other organizations within Raytheon, including Supply Chain Management (SCM), Operations and other engineering disciplines. What You Will Do - Provide guidance, coaching, and leadership to engineers within the section to ensure effective communications and program execution.
- Ensure appropriate staff development through effective performance management, including goal setting, career development, compensation, employee learning, and developmental task assignments.
- Provide engineering oversight to programs supported by the section through the planning and leadership of project design reviews and peer reviews, including technical briefings to internal leadership and external customers.
- Lead and manage section staff, recruiting, hiring, retaining, and developing effective engineers and engineering leaders.
- Create, capture, and analyze metrics to manage associated organizational and program performance.
- This 1st shift role will be 100% on-site and based in Tucson, AZ. Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), Physics or related engineering degree and a minimum 10 years' of prior related work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum 8 years' of prior related work experience.
- Work experience in one or more of the following areas: -
- Analog, digital, and power electronics design, integration, and production support
- RF product and subassembly design, integration, and production support
- Electro Optical product and subassembly design, integration, and production support
- Deconvolving high level requirements into actionable design electronics and subsystem architectures
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Secret Qualifications We Prefer:
- Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related engineering degree.
- Knowledge and experience leading a multi-disciplined team.
- Systems engineering thought process with analytical skills background.
- Able to network / influence outside of the Flight Avionics Section with other design and production support organizations, program leadership, other engineering disciplines and Manufacturing organizations.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with peers, suppliers, management, and customers in a production environment.
- Proven experience in balancing engineering process discipline and innovation for rapid development and program success.
- Ability to effectively work multiple tasks and priorities.
- Experience with EVMS, development of budgets, task planning milestone development, and budget management.
- Experience utilizing cost, schedule and performance tools for managing projects and program planning.
