The Section Leader (SL) for the Flight Avionics Department is responsible for performance and career development, goal planning, disciplinary actions, and execution of Raytheon and Engineering organization initiatives. - The SL is also accountable to the programs for their Section team members performance, including cost, schedule, and technical solutions. - The SL ensures that members of the section support product design activities in accordance with established Raytheon engineering design practices, interacts with cross-functional teams, and partners with the other organizations within Raytheon, including Supply Chain Management (SCM), Operations and other engineering disciplines. What You Will Do

• Provide guidance, coaching, and leadership to engineers within the section to ensure effective communications and program execution.
• Ensure appropriate staff development through effective performance management, including goal setting, career development, compensation, employee learning, and developmental task assignments.
• Provide engineering oversight to programs supported by the section through the planning and leadership of project design reviews and peer reviews, including technical briefings to internal leadership and external customers.
• Lead and manage section staff, recruiting, hiring, retaining, and developing effective engineers and engineering leaders.
• Create, capture, and analyze metrics to manage associated organizational and program performance.
• This 1st shift role will be 100% on-site and based in Tucson, AZ. Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), Physics or related engineering degree and a minimum 10 years' of prior related work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum 8 years' of prior related work experience.
  • Work experience in one or more of the following areas: -
    • Analog, digital, and power electronics design, integration, and production support
    • RF product and subassembly design, integration, and production support
    • Electro Optical product and subassembly design, integration, and production support
    • Deconvolving high level requirements into actionable design electronics and subsystem architectures
    • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Secret Qualifications We Prefer:
      • Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related engineering degree.
      • Knowledge and experience leading a multi-disciplined team.
      • Systems engineering thought process with analytical skills background.
      • Able to network / influence outside of the Flight Avionics Section with other design and production support organizations, program leadership, other engineering disciplines and Manufacturing organizations.
      • Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with peers, suppliers, management, and customers in a production environment.
      • Proven experience in balancing engineering process discipline and innovation for rapid development and program success.
      • Ability to effectively work multiple tasks and priorities.
      • Experience with EVMS, development of budgets, task planning milestone development, and budget management.
      • Experience utilizing cost, schedule and performance tools for managing projects and program planning.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
