ABOUT THE JOB: WE WANT YOU!A dedicated team of healthcare professionals in Phoenix is urgently seeking a full-time Microvascular Plastics & Hand Surgeon to join their team. The position is in a non-profit, community-based public hospital system with an integrated healthcare delivery system. The Department proudly offers a fully accredited ACGME General Surgery Residency Program.An immediate opportunity exists in the Department of Surgery for a full-time microvascular plastics and hand surgeon with a strong interest in academics and trauma. The Department staffs a community hospital with a State and American College of Surgeons designated Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center in the metropolitan Phoenix area. The Department seeks a microvascular plastics and hand surgeon interested in resident education to join and become an integral part of a busy plastics and hand practice. The practice has a strong emphasis on trauma and is supported by the trauma team. Tissue microvascular procedures with breast surgery and burn surgery are anticipated.The surgeon would be appointed to the Department of Surgery with responsibilities relating to serving as a faculty member, traditional inpatient and outpatient services in the elective, urgent, and emergent care of the plastic/hand patient, teaching, and on-call coverage. The Department also hosts a General Surgery and Surgical Podiatry Residency Program and supervises resident rotators in plastic surgery.WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOUEach of us has our own unique qualities, which we use to serve a diverse range of patients. We are currently seeking a qualified healthcare professional who is a physician with the following qualifications: DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? - Must be a licensed MD or DO
- Must have an Arizona Medical License or be able to obtain one before your start date.
- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Must have successfully completed a plastic surgery residency training program.
- Previous faculty experience is preferred.
- Must have completed the Certificate in Added Qualifications for Hand or Surgery of the Hand certified/eligible.
- Strong passion and desire to serve underserved patient populations.
- Strong desire for academic excellence and passing on your knowledge, AKA Teaching!
- Working with residents will be expected, and a desire to teach and achieve scholarly activities is necessary.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is always a plus but not required.WHAT S IN IT FOR YOU?
