Job Summary Manage the programming, volunteers, outreach and operations of Sun Sounds Tempe. Overseeing general operations of Flagstaff and Tucson affiliates. In charge of broadcast operations and production along with the supervision of staff. Effectively communicate, both written and spoken, with supervisor, staff, and the public. Essential Functions 30% - Directs, creates, and monitors technical operations of audio reading service. Produces audio and edits content for multiple formats including streaming and on-demand audio. Produces and edits outreach materials including social media marketing 25% - Creates, directs and implements programming schedule. Edits and produces audio from a variety of source materials. Programs the automation, ensuring audio is of high quality and execution. Writes and produces newsletters and digital updates 25% - Directs affiliates in the radio reading system. Ensuring quality production and scheduling for multiple locations. Develops broadcast schedule and materials to properly integrate all submissions. Develops schedule in conjunction with local team leader 20% - Recruits, schedules and oversees volunteers. Conduct audio tests and on-air skill assessment, schedules teams and gathers audio materials. Reviews on-air work and content for quality and relevance, coordinates new and returning volunteers. Serves as community liaison for outreach Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in journalism, radio/television, broadcasting or related field, four years of broadcast-related operations or programming experience which includes two years of lead work or senior level experience. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Experience working in radio environments, such as a reading service or in disability-focused programming B. Experience using programming broadcast automation software such as Wire Ready C. Experience using broadcast equipment, such as audio consoles, digital recording and production equipment, and digital editing software such as Audacity, Studio Recorder and Adobe Audition D. Experience in volunteer coordination E. Experience with streaming, podcasting and social media marketing F. Experience writing newsletters and knowledge of website updates Special Working Conditions Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense. Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations. May require numerous evenings or weekends. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen. May be required to lift or carry up to 25lbs.
