Job Summary This position is scheduled to begin August 2025. Instruct mathematics ranging from College Math through Calculus, with an emphasis on the manipulation, critical thinking, and problem solving skills needed to succeed in college level courses. Employ interactive and innovative instructional techniques to reach students with diverse learning styles. Instruct students from diverse cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, and academic backgrounds and those with disabilities. Interact with students outside of class in areas such as: student support hours, tutoring, mentoring, honor's projects, undergraduate research, and campus life. Engage in department, campus, and district-wide service and in professional development. Demonstrate a commitment to service excellence, innovation, student success, integrity, and diversity in the performance of job duties. Essential Functions * Instructs a diverse population of students in classroom and lab settings. * Develops written syllabi/course outlines and course materials; assesses student knowledge of subject matter and prepares and grades exams; maintains academic support hours to assist and advise students. * Engages in the academic life of the college by participating in district-wide and campus committees and activities. * Develops and enhances knowledge of subject matter taught and individual training skills required to remain current with new trends and developments in the field and to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning through attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, and/or workshops. Minimum Qualifications The Academic Teaching Fields require the following from an accredited college or university: A Master's degree or higher with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field or a Master's degree or higher in the teaching field is required. Desired Qualifications A. Teaching experience at a community college (on campus, online, virtual, or Dual Enrollment) B. Experience in teaching College Mathematics through Calculus C. Experience working with a diverse student population including students of all abilities from racially, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse backgrounds D. Experience using interactive and innovative techniques to teach and engage a student population with diverse learning styles E.
