  Job Details
  • A hospital in Arizona is looking for an experienced L&D Nurse for a travel assignment.
  • The right candidate will have two years' experience.
  • Must have experience with C-sections and must have computer charting experience, preferably Cerner.
  • Unit: Labor and Delivery
  • # beds: 18 LDRP's, 14 bed OB triage, 8 bed Antepartum.
  • Average deliveries: 8-10/day; 322-344/month; 3863/year.
  • # OR suites on the unit for C-sections: 2 fully equipped ORs.
    Job Requirements
    • Active BLS certification.
    • Active ACLS certification.
    • Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
    • AZ license or compact license.
    • Travelers are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to starting (2 attempts).
    • Must pass a score of 80% on the dysrhythmia exam.
      Schedule Information
      • Shifts: Nights 1900-0700.
      • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule.
      • Holidays: Would love coverage on Holidays if you require it.
        Unit Specific Information
        • Ratios: Unit attempts to follow AWHONN guidelines & ratios and are staffing up to meet the AWHONN standards.
        • Nurse to pt ratios are mostly 2:1 depending on acuity, AntePartum can be 4:1, c-sections 1:1.
        • EMR: Cerner.
        • EFM System: Fetal Link.
        • Floating: to MB/PP when needed.
        • Floor specific orientation: 1 week.
        • Required to titrate drips? Yes, they will titrate Pitocin as per the protocol and Magnesium Sulfate as per the protocol.
          Additional Details
          • Travelers will take a pass/fail Sim lab on day 1 of orientation. Study guides will be provided with FDI's.
          • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH C-SECTIONS AND MUST HAVE COMPUTER CHARTING EXPERIENCE, PREFERABLY CERNER.
          • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Laboring or preterm pregnant patients.
          • We are a level II EQ so we take gestations 28 weeks and greater.
