Our company's measurable growth is in no small part due to our team members in North Carolina, Arkansas, Illinois, and Missouri, who each have a seat at the table to contribute to our success Essential Duties, Functions & Responsibilities The Trainer assists in the onboarding of newly-hired associates to teach them to perform jobs in a safe and efficient manner. The Trainer also facilitates training and testing related to safety, including but not limited to monthly topics training, hearing tests, and powered-industrial truck (PIT) testing and licensure. - Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities: - Conduct and facilitate safety training and other training for new associate orientations
- Coordinate with supervisor the placement of newly-hired associates
- Ensure that new associates participate in pre-shift exercises and complete all paperwork related to new employment
- Train new associates on how to perform their jobs, including review of work instructions and procedures and correct usage of work tools and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Monitor associates' progress in job during the new employment period
- Document training process for associates' employment records
- Coordinate monthly training to ensure that materials are prepared and available and assist with training as neede
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Safety Manager or plant management
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics (KSAOs) The qualified applicant will possess the following KSAOs: - Ability to learn and to perform all jobs within a specific department
- Ability to work independently and to be self-motivated in performing job tasks
- Ability to be a role model for good work behaviors and attendance for other associates
- Ability to communicate to associates at all levels, from hourly associates to plant management
- Strong working knowledge of policies, procedures, and rules of the plant and company
- Commitment to the plant safety and health programs
- Translation and interpretation skills, if bilingual
- Working knowledge of common word processing, spreadsheet, and visual presentation software
- Willingness to work in medium industrial conditions including extreme hot and cold temperatures, damp to wet conditions, dusty conditions, and outdoors
- Physical ability to stand for eight (8) hours or more daily; lift, push, pull, and carry up to seventy (70) pounds; and perform repetitive manual motions with knives, scissors, and/or machinery
