Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of infants, children, adults, geriatric patients. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansasand the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System. The RN will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts. SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION: This position is a designated as Safety Sensitive Position under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services. Responsibilities - Assists Physician/Nurse Practitioner with patient assessment, examination, and procedures.
- Collects patient data such as history, height, weight, vital signs, and medical history before the physician examines patient.
- Conducts a fall risk assessment, inter disciplinary screening and pain assessment on each patient
- Obtains accurate patient information over telephone from patients and/or other health care providers and relay messages to physician/nurse practitioner as appropriate.
- Enters all necessary patient information in computer.
- Completes referrals, FMLA forms, disability, or other insurance forms within 72 hours.
- Returns phone calls by the end of the day.
- Communicates lab results to patient by either mail or telephone within 48 hours.
- Reports any URGENT lab results IMMEDIATELY to the Physician and conveys to the patient as instructed by the Physician/Nurse Practitioner.
- Performs EKGs and applies cardiac monitors in the clinic setting.
- Maintains supplies and equipment for patient care.
- Checks expiration dates of all medications, including samples, monthly, and documents the date of inspection.
- Maintains medication supplies in an orderly manner and discards expired medications.
- Maintains current refrigerator, crash cart, defibrillator logs and oxygen logs.
- Maintains current CPR certification and license at all times.
- Works with Infection Control nurse, safety specialist, etc., to maintain appropriate clinic environment.
- Performs other allowable duties as assigned by Clinic Supervisor, which may include assisting in other areas of clinic operations when not performing primary duties.
- Demonstrates advocacy for patients and staff.
- Participates in activities that promote personal and professional development.
- Conveys information acquired through seminars and workshops to unit team members. Qualifications
