Job Details - A hospital in California is looking for an experienced L/D nurse for a travel contract.
- The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced AWHONN and CA License.
Job Requirements - Must have 2 full years of experience in L/D nursing.
- Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced AWHONN.
- Current CA RN License is required.
- CERNER experience is REQUIRED!
- Must be comfortable taking 2 patients according to per ACOG Guidelines (2:1).
- No first-time travelers.
- Experience with high risk patients, multiple births, running insulin gtts, running mag drips.
- Must have C-section experience and be strong in L&D.
Schedule Information - Shifts are 12 hours, either 7a - 7p or 7p - 7a.
- Weekends are usually every other weekend, similar to permanent staff.
- Breaks include a 1/2 hour break (clock-out) and 3 - 15 min breaks per shift as per CA Law.
Unit Specific Information - The unit has 12 L&D beds and 6 triage beds.
- Has no nurse aides but has OB techs for C-sections and assistance with baby care.
- Has a 'Charge Nurse' around the clock who does NOT take patients.
- Unit orientation includes 2 shifts on the unit, with additional meeting with educator for file reviews to ensure accurate documentation.
- The unit equips pagers linked to call light system & internal spectralink phones.
