Job Details - A hospital in California is looking for an experienced ER nurse for a travel contract.
- The right candidate will have 3+ full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH and CA License.
Job Requirements - 3+ years of experience required.
- Must have experience working in a fast-paced, high volume, and high acuity ER.
- Candidate must not be a first-time traveler.
- REQUIRED: Candidates will not be presented without a copy of certs attached in profile package.
Schedule Information - Shifts: 7a, 9a, 11a, 3p, 7p (all 12-hour shifts).
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
- Holidays: 2 out of 3 major holidays.
Unit Specific Information - Unit: ER (non-trauma center; approx 270-320 visits per day; busy days they see up to 350).
- Number of beds: 62 beds plus hallway beds/chairs.
- Ratios: 1 to 4.
- EMR: Cerner.
- Charge Nurse: Yes, both shifts - does not take patients unless absolutely necessary.
- Nurse Aides: ER techs available.
- Common diagnosis/Types of patients: Pediatric zone available; all diagnosis from minors to critical care, CVA, STEMI, sepsis.
- ER is broken down into two sections ER North and South; large amount of paramedic and nursing students rotate through; a triage nurse (3 during peak times) around the clock.
