Meet the team: The Latitude AI Localization team provides solutions for onboard vehicle pose and state estimates. We also play a crucial role in the process of building highly accurate maps at a massive scale. Our goal is to provide the ADAS system with an accurate, stable, and coherent understanding of where the vehicle is in the world and on the road.Come help us make the world safer, and driving more pleasant. What you'll do: - Collaborate with expert software engineers and experienced roboticist to build solutions that scale from the lab to the customer, for one of the largest-scale robotics projects in history
- Architect, design, and implement novel, state-of-the-art solutions for onboard localization and offline mapping at large scales
- Develop production quality, highly performant software in a fast-paced, autonomous environment while maintaining a strong safety culture
- Communicate design decisions, implementation improvements and project progress within your team and across the organization
- Write automated tests and metrics to improve and validate performance
What you'll need to succeed: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience (or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or PhD)
- Significant (4+ years) prior experience in one or more of the following:
- developing real-time visualization and benchmarking tools
- IMU filtering
- localization, mapping, SLAM, and geometric computer vision
- numerical optimization methods
- Significant (4+ years) prior experience in C++ software development
- Track record of product development culminating in successful launches/releases/etc
Nice to have: - Master's or PhD degree in Robotics, ECE, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- Significant (5+ years) of experience in Python software development
- Track record of technical leadership (not limited to management) taking products or large features from research to consumer release
