Job Type: Full Time Location: San Diego, CA Clearance: Secret AERMOR is seeking an Information System Security Specialist III. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the implementation of advanced cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive Navy information systems. This role requires in-depth knowledge of information assurance (IA) processes, risk management, and security frameworks to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Navy and DoD information systems.Key Responsibilities: - Provide high-level guidance and support for the secure implementation and management of Navy information systems.
- Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD Instruction 8510.01.
- Monitor, evaluate, and improve the effectiveness of security measures to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Oversee the certification and accreditation of Navy systems in alignment with DoD and Navy cybersecurity policies.
- Use tools such as eMASS to maintain system authorization packages and ensure ongoing compliance with security controls.
- Ensure systems are properly configured and continuously monitored to detect vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments using tools such as Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM).
- Implement remediation strategies to address vulnerabilities in a timely and effective manner.
- Work closely with system administrators and other stakeholders to ensure systems are hardened against cyber threats.
- Lead risk assessments and audits to ensure that information systems comply with the RMF and Navy Information Assurance (IA) regulations.
- Document and track all security incidents, audit results, and corrective actions taken.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and engineers, to integrate security measures into system design and operations.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior information security specialists, fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness.Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5years of hands-on experience in information system security with specialized experience in the application of Navy and DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent military training.
- Must hold an IAM Level III certification, CISSP, CISM, CCISO, GIAC, or GSLC.
