Vista Veterinary Specialists is looking for an experienced individual to join our team on a full-time basis.Our 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital provide care in internal medicine, critical care, radiology, and cardiology. Our modern facility offers a full in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasonography, on-site CT, and endoscopy.The compensation for this role typically falls between $21.00 and $30.20 hourly. Compensation is based on skills and experience. We offer an additional shift differential for swing and grave shifts Shifts: 3-12's or 4-10's, weekend day requiredAbout the Job: As an ER veterinary technician/ assistant in our Emergency/Critical Care department and you will be responsible for: - Triaging incoming patients and managing patients/clients throughout their visit.
- Partnering with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
- Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates.
- Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment.
- Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events.
- Surgical assisting for minor (non-specialty) procedures.
- Assessing hospitalized patients needs and communicating details to the DVM overseeing the case.
- Inpatient treatments and nursing care throughout the shift.
- Calculating and administering medication, fluid additives, CRI's About You:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting is required. 1 year of ECC experience is preferred.
- RVT, VTS, or VACSP preferred but not required.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring.
- Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques is required.
- Positive outlook and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
