<span><span style="color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;">Our client in El Segundo has a job opportunity for Senior Storage Systems Engineering to join their team. <br>&nbsp;<br>Responsibilities Include:<br>&nbsp;<br>&bull; Implement and architect server/systems infrastructure in a large 24x7 environment.<br>&bull; Specify and certify next generation server, storage, and network hardware to match company growth.<br>&bull; Be able to implement from design diagrams a highly available and scalable system infrastructure. Candidate should be able to translate a design concept into a working diagram highlighting individual hardware/software components required to integrate the project into existing infrastructure.<br>&bull; Manage to engineering milestones by ensuring that development, integration, test and production environments are all in sync; implement revision change control<br>&bull; Support and maintain communication and project workflow between development group and operations group.<br>&bull; Ability to provide engineering input for database development (SQL, Access) and Business Objects<br>&bull; Fluency in Linux/UNIX a plus<br>&bull; Implement and configure server virtualization technology such as VMWare and Citrix Xen and the proper use of these environments.<br>o VMWare vCloud Director<br>o VMware vCenter Operations Manager<br>o Cluster deployments <br>o vDistributed Switches<br>o vMotion<br>o Able to create, maintain &amp; deploy templates<br>o Create clones &amp; customization profiles<br>o High Availability (HA) &amp; Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) <br>o Host profiles<br>&bull; Install and configure Dell servers (Rack mounted &amp; Blades)<br>o M1000e<br>o M620<br>o R610, 620, 810, 820<br>&bull; Install and configure Cisco UCS servers a plus<br>Technical Qualifications<br>&bull; 7+ years of experience in networking industry. B.S (or higher) in computer science or equivalent.<br>&bull; Experience with Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.x - 6.4, Redhat Deployments using Kickstart installations, Redhat Clustering configuration and deployments<br>&bull; Experience with Oracle Linux 5.6 - 6.4 and Oracle RAC cluster technology<br>&bull; Virtualization software/hardware: VMWare, Citrix Xen, Network bonding, and VLAN Trunking<br>&bull; Server platforms: Dell OpenManage, x86, x86-64, IA64, PA-RISC, SPARC, POWER<br>&bull; Experience with the deployment and management of storage hardware:<br>o 3PAR, EMC, Isilon IQ, iDRAC configuration &amp; management and Netapp NAS appliances <br>o SAN hardware and technologies: EMC/Brocade, SAN Directors, Fibre-Attached storage, iSCSI, RAID levels and best practices<br>&bull; Linux administration to include networking, storage, multipathing configurations<br>&bull; Familiarity with:<br>o NTP, DNS, NFS, Load Balancing<br>o Fiber Channel zoning concepts<br>o Brocade administration, NPIV &amp; Access Gateway Mode<br>o HTTP servers and understanding of content delivery/CDN integration<br>o High Availability and Scalability Technology: Brocade Load Balancers, clustering software, auto-failover, Ethernet bonding<br>Office and Interpersonal Skills<br>&bull; Must be able to work successfully in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment, and effectively multi-task multiple priorities in a team-oriented setting.<br>&bull; Candidates should possess excellent written/verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills and be able to communicate ideas and concepts between different departments.<br>&bull; Demonstrate leadership and organizational skills by seeing a project from engineering design concept to final product deployment.<br>&bull; Establish technology roadmaps for servers, OS versions, and cluster software through product evaluations and collaboration with development and operations groups.<br>&bull; Must be able to work both independently on projects and cooperatively within a team environment.<br>&bull; Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Visio and Access.<br>&bull; May require up to 20% travel; must have the ability to expense travel costs prior to reimbursement.<br>&nbsp;<br></span><br></span> More...
