About the role We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager Assets to oversee the entire asset management of Gatik's fleet of autonomous trucks across all locations. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in asset management within the transportation industry, specifically with gasoline and diesel box trucks (Class 5 - 7). This role requires strong leadership skills, a proven track record in team building, and the ability to develop and implement new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technology is a plus. You will report to the Senior Manager Operations and enable local markets through process standardization, data analysis, and functional expertise. This is a salaried position located onsite at our Mountain View, California location. What you'll do - Oversee entire asset handling: manage the lifecycle of the fleet , including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
- Vendor management: manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and financing partners.
- Box building process: lead and manage the box building process to ensure all vehicles meet company standards, specifications, and are completed prior to deployments.
- Licensing: oversee all vehicle licensing, including registration, temp and state plates, and overall compliance across all jurisdictions.
- Compliance: ensure all asset management activities comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Asset and device tracking: implement and maintain asset tracking systems
- Vehicle financing: oversee vehicle financing arrangements, including leasing, budgeting, and financial planning.
- SOP development: develop, implement, and continuously improve sops for asset management operations.
- Goal setting: establish asset management goals and objectives aligned with company strategy.
- Efficiency enhancement: identify opportunities to enhance asset management processes and operational efficiency.
- Interdepartmental coordination: work closely with operations, procurement, engineering, and finance to support the integration and maintenance of autonomous technology.
- Technical collaboration: collaborate with engineering teams to address technical challenges and implement solutions.
What We're Looking For - Education: bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: minimum of 10 years in asset management within the transportation or logistics industry, preferably with box or large haul trucks.
- Technical knowledge: strong knowledge of asset management operations and best practices.
- Technology proficiency: experience with asset tracking technologies (e.g., Samsara, GeoTab) and fleet management software.
- Communication skills: excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Process development: ability to develop and implement effective sops.
- Location requirement: must be based in or willing to relocate to Mountain View, CA.
- Financial acumen: familiarity with vehicle financing and registration processes.
- Analytical skills: strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis.
- Adaptability: ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Industry knowledge: familiarity with autonomous vehicle technology is a plus.
