Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Develop hydro mechanical project solutions for both modernization and new projects.
• Engineering consulting, including condition assessments, studies, mechanical engineering and detailed design, calculations, and specification development.
• Engineering for equipment procurement, development of technical specifications, reviewing fabrication and installation activities for conformance to engineering design and specifications.
• Researching and analyzing data such as customer concepts and equipment layouts to determine feasibility of design or application.
• Evaluating field installations and recommending design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Provide field support during construction.
• Other tasks as required to support project goals and HDR business activities.Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in the power industry with preferred experience across large valves, turbines and piping systems.
  • PE.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCAD.
  • The ability to handle multiple diverse assignments successfully in a consulting firm environment.
  • The ability to perform as a key member of an interdisciplinary project team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to mentor EITs and younger staff on the team.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Preferred Qualifications
    • Hydro power industry experience.
