Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer, we'll count on you to: - Develop hydro mechanical project solutions for both modernization and new projects.
- Engineering consulting, including condition assessments, studies, mechanical engineering and detailed design, calculations, and specification development.
- Engineering for equipment procurement, development of technical specifications, reviewing fabrication and installation activities for conformance to engineering design and specifications.
- Researching and analyzing data such as customer concepts and equipment layouts to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Evaluating field installations and recommending design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Provide field support during construction.
- Other tasks as required to support project goals and HDR business activities.Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years experience in the power industry with preferred experience across large valves, turbines and piping systems.
- PE.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCAD.
- The ability to handle multiple diverse assignments successfully in a consulting firm environment.
- The ability to perform as a key member of an interdisciplinary project team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to mentor EITs and younger staff on the team.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Preferred Qualifications
