Community Medical Centers is seeking a EEG Technologist for a job in Fresno, California. We have an 84-bed Level III NICU and plan to significantly expand pediatric specialty care. Our hospital serves 2.We're affiliated with UCSF as a teaching facility; trained 3,000 Medical Doctor's to date plus continuous invests in research and training grants. Performs Electroencephalograms (EEGs), ambulatory EEGs and, as authorized, Nerve Conduction Velocity testing. Records electrical activity of the patient's brain to study epilepsy, convulsive disorders and localizing lesions in the cerebrum. Ensures quality care, safety, and general comfort of the patient undergoing testing procedures, and provides care appropriate to condition and age of patient, neonate through geriatric population.Cleans the head electrodes between patients with warm water and detergent followed by a sanitizing agent. Requests medical supplies needed for performing the EEG procedures.Obtains patient's medical history from both the chart and patient themself. Records and protects medical information according to regulation.Performs standard and complex neurodiagnostic testing on patients exhibiting a variety of physical and emotional states. Schedules and coordinates patient testing with nursing and allied care staff. Operates equipment safely and correctly and performs preventative maintenance. Reports any discovered equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.Assists lead staff with monitoring work flow and operations issues. Makes performance recommendations.Completes department upkeep: answers phones, enters data into spreadsheets, prepares monthly statistical information, registers patients into system, and maintains record logs.
