Position overview Position title: Cardiovascular Medicine Research Faculty Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $300,000-$600,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (https://cardiology.ucsd.edu/) in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is currently recruiting faculty for tenured positions. The successful candidates will have the exciting opportunity to advance clinical and translational research at a leading university and prominent health system. They will take on responsibilities in leadership, teaching, research, and/or patient care. The appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Series will include 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding or 100% Ladder Rank. Additional information can be found here: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-671.pdf Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Candidates must have a MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD with an emphasis relevant to Cardiovascular Medicine. Candidates must also have an independent extramurally-funded research program (NIH R01 or similar). Candidates with a MD or equivalent with clinical duties must be Board certified or Board eligible in Cardiology, and must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
