<span> <br>Job Description:<br> <br>Oracle DBA-08653<br>Description<br>• 7+ years of in-depth Oracle DB and other database design and administration across a multi-platform UNIX/NT environment.<br>• Application implementation and installation in an online environment of Oracle R12/ 11i with demonstrated competency in execution of multiple projects to meet goals<br>• Support for Oracle VCP Module(s) – Demantra and ASCP is highly desired<br>• Minimum of 5 years of project management or technical responsibility through various project in multidiscipline, high-performance work teams and development groups<br>• 3+ years of experience in successfully developed and implemented applications in new computing environment, using new and emerging technologies<br>• Plans and manages all technical and functional tasks associated with database administration, including creating, maintaining, and monitoring databases; performance tuning analysis; capacity planning; workload modeling and prediction; systems support; long-term strategic planning; application support and optimization; problem resolution tracking; and software upgrades.<br>• Assesses customer requirements; analyzes the architecture of business events and databases that support the architecture; evaluates possible solutions; and presents recommendations to IT management<br>• Performs software installation and configuration, including upgrades and applying patches<br>• Works closely with Business Solutions teams, developers, Systems Administrators and peers in other areas of IT<br>• Ensure backups are successful and restore processes are known and tested<br>• Ensures that databases supporting application systems are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices<br>• Monitors and reports to IT management and user the status of multiple concurrent project efforts<br>• Anticipates and identifies issues inhibiting the attainment of project goals; develop and implement corrective actions<br>• Provides 24/7 on-call support as needed<br>• Develops project resource strategies, allocating budget, staff, tools, and specialized support necessary for cost-effective implementation and support of project efforts<br>• Has sufficient experience and expertise to perform multiple tasks/assignments of a medium to complex level. General supervision and little guidance.<br>• Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.<br>• Excellent research and trouble shooting skills and experience in Oracle Applications R12 and 11i for EBS and VCP<br>• Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies in a multi-platform environment is desirable<br>• Experience in scheduling and performance of regular database maintenance such as cloning, rebuilding indexes, table space reorganization, and data file additions<br>• Experience in implementation, maintenance and monitoring of database backups and recovery, enforcing proper policies and procedures<br>• Knowledge of High Availability Clustered Multiprocessing functionality<br>• Experience in effectively managing projects in a cross-functional environment against critical deadlines<br>• Excellent communications skills and strong customer focus<br>• Must be able to plan, coordinate and execute multiple projects and deadlines<br>• Strong technical knowledge, with hands-on experience managing systems development in client server/web architectures and environments; knowledge MS Office, Windows, SQL Server, Oracle ERP (11i), and Oracle tools is critical<br>• Adapt quickly to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs<br>• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.<br>• Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form<br>• Strong ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others who may have ongoing competing priorities and viewpoints<br>Qualifications<br>• Application implementation and installation in an online environment of Oracle R12/ 11i with demonstrated competency in execution of multiple projects to meet goals<br>• Support for Oracle VCP Module(s) – Demantra and ASCP is highly desired<br>• Solid understanding of relational database management systems, client/server programming and distributed databases<br>• Experience in database design, server and application products configuration, and patch installations<br>• Full knowledge of SQL, and stored procedures, including programming, tuning and optimization, and Unix Shell scripts<br>• Solid knowledge and experience in areas of database monitoring through scripts and tools, database optimization, database migration, DDL management, backup and recovery, scheduling packages, and related RDBMS-specific tools and utilities, e.g. Appworx, Oracle Enterprise Manager, etc.<br>Job Discipline Information Technology (IT) & Support Services<br>Primary LocationUS-California-Irvine<br>Schedule Full-tim<br> <br> <br> <br></span> More...
