Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff. Specifies tests to be performed, compiles data, and makes recommendations for changes required in testing equipment procedures, manufacturing processes, new testing requirements and/or design of testing equipment. Recommends the purchase of test equipment. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.Nature of Duties/Responsibilities: - Follow Sanmina's process for Functional Test Support and Structural Test development and provide the deliverables for new or First Time Build products, reporting issues to Manufacturing Engineering.
- Monitor yield process performance through MESWeb and enhance through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead the team towards achieving overall group objectives such as:
- Functional and system test support;
- Timely release of test stations to Production;
- Addressing issues related to test station yield, performance and capacity;
- Creation and update of documentation for test operator and debug technician support;
- Monitor and analyze test data, generating reports on test yields and test/product issues.
- Initiate and implement improvement plans to enhance test yields, cycle time, and product quality.
- Engage in technical discussions with existing or potential customers to win new business opportunities.
- Explain the test engineering group capabilities and Sanmina's test-related processes to customers.
- Define requirements, planning, scheduling, monitoring milestones, and costs for new projects.
- Assign areas of responsibility to employees and monitor individual objectives based on overall group objectives and priorities.
- Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced team members and conduct independent research into complex engineering problems.
- Troubleshoot and analyze process performance problems, working closely with Process Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering groups on corrective actions.
- Establish goals to meet assignments and objectives.
- Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules.
- Address diverse scope issues requiring evaluation of various factors, including current business trends.
- Act as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and resolve technical problems.
- Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements.
- Participate in the operations engineering work by overseeing and advising others or contributing directly to complex solution development.Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years Experience in Test EngineeringSkills:Communication:
- Promote effective communication and cooperation with other groups to meet corporate goals.
- Assign and monitor individual objectives for group members, providing timely feedback on performance and development plans.
