Position Summary: The Executive Director of Search and Evaluation is an integral member of the Corporate Strategy & Development team and will lead the search and evaluation process, including finding, screening, and evaluating external innovation for potential in-licensing, acquisition, or collaboration. This individual will also participate in the diligence, contracting, and integration processes. They will collaborate with Travere's scientific experts to understand the evolving nephrology scientific landscape and prioritize areas of interest to help advance Travere's leadership position in rare/specialty nephrology. Responsibilities: - Closely collaborate with Travere's scientific leaders to help define and implement scientific strategy for external sources of innovation in the specialty nephrology and rare disease therapeutic areas.
- Identify leads and source new Business Development opportunities that are consistent with the company's scientific and business objectives.
- Conduct thorough scientific evaluations of potential in-licensing, acquisition, or collaboration opportunities.
- Serve as a key member of the cross-functional deal team through diligence, negotiation, contract execution and integration of acquisitions and partnerships.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the biopharma community, including researchers, industry experts, and potential partners.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership providing insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive activities to inform search strategies and evaluations.
- Leverage multiple information sources to identify promising assets and other external opportunities, including publications, presentations, competitive intelligence, scientific conferences, and industry-related databases.
Education/Experience Requirements: - MD or Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field; MBA or additional business qualifications are a plus.
- 10+ years of relevant scientific experience and a minimum of 8+ years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries with a focus on business development, search and evaluation, or similar roles.
- Strong scientific acumen and ability to interpret complex data and clinical findings. Exposure to the full spectrum of drug development from discovery to commercialization.
- Proven track record of successful evaluation and in-licensing of biopharma assets.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally.
- Knowledge and experience in nephrology is a plus.
