Transdev's Autonomous Specialist's are critical to the success of delivering safe autonomous driving systems to our customers, enabling a revolutionary mobility experience.This role is the backbone of daily operations, primarily focused on depot work. L-1 associates are responsible for servicing fully autonomous vehicles, preparing them for driver testing missions, and performing asset management and cleaning tasks. Additionally, they provide in-field event response when needed to ensure smooth operations.This position serves as the foundation for building essential knowledge of our Autonomous Vehicle Fleet. By continuously developing skills and demonstrating proficiency in key responsibilities, you'll be prepared for advancement into Autonomous Vehicle operations and other technical roles within our structure.Key Responsibilities: - Operate/Drive van/truck or other car, (assignment may be alone or with a co-driver) five days a week; able to sit still and stand for long periods of time.
- Capable of responding quickly to changing and potentially high-pressure environments.
- Responsible for gathering, lifting and transporting heavy computer equipment of up to 50 pounds.
- Install equipment and ensure it starts successfully.
- Complete duties in a timely manner while adhering to schedules.
- Complete daily reports and documents.
- Assist with simple vehicle adjustments and settings while cars are parked.
- Set up cars for charging and maneuver cars in parking lot.
- Disinfect cars, work stations and prepare sanitization kits.
- Maintain Transdev's high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle.
- Work mostly individually but also in small groups of 2-10 people.
- Be the deputy for vehicle launch and preparation.
- Communicate any uploading errors while also focusing on high priority uploads.
- Package and ship equipment needing repair.
- Assist with asset inventory/checkin/checkout process.
- Responsible for pushing shift efficiency (Fast Startup).
- Basic troubleshooting at shift startup.
- Ensuring startup and shift-end checklists are being followed.
- Demonstrating continuous development and proficiency in the above key responsibilities in preparation for advancement into Autonomous Vehicle operations and other technical roles.
- All other duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Four-year college degree (preferred) in a related field like industrial or applied sciences.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience driving on public roads. Additional experience is preferred.Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (i.e. Gmail, Chats, and Drive, including Sheets and Docs).
- Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred but not required).
- Must be able to type at least 40 adjusted wpm.
- Must have and maintain a driving record that meets state AVT (Autonomous Vehicle Tester) and/or other applicable regulations and laws.
- Meets driver requirements, including driving record and criminal history under applicable regulations and laws in the state(s) in which the self-driving vehicle monitor will be working.
- Ability to parallel park with minimal assistance preferred.
- Must have good attention to detail.
- Adapt quickly to new and developing technology and processes.
- Must be able to work specific shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends, as well as overnight shifts and travel for up to one month.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated and demonstrate good judgment, in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
- Travel up to 10% of the time.Physical Requirements:
- Occasional long periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders, use of hands and/or fingers, ability to talk and/or hear.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
