Job DescriptionThe Signia Mission Systems companies are expanding following a recent acquisition in Anaheim, CA. We are seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to join our growing team at our manufacturing facility, which employs over 200 people. As a Systems Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting safety assessments and analysis to ensure the reliability and safety of our systems. Your expertise will play a vital role in supporting our Anaheim manufacturing operation. This is a remote role; qualified candidates can live anywhere in the U.S. and must be a U.S. person. The role will require periodic travel to Anaheim, CA. Job Responsibilities - Safety Assessment: Perform civil safety assessments in agreement with ARP 4761 and military duties per MIL-STD-882E. Conduct Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA), System Safety Assessments (SSA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Common Mode Analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
- Support Engineering Teams: Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software engineering teams to identify system safety requirements during development. Review design and development documentation for safety-critical equipment and analyses conducted by colleague protection plans.
- Mentorship: Counsel and train less experienced safety engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Accountability: Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, ensuring accountability to team members and organizational leadership for work commitments and deliverables.
- Expertise Development: Advance and sustain skills in assigned areas, including programs, functions, processes, and technologies, to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with clientele, shareholders and managerial leaders to develop and implement safety plans and strategies.
