Concurrent Review / Authorizations Assistant - Anaheim California

We have an immediate need for a qualified Authorizations Assistant with concurrent review experience to provide office and referral management support to inpatient Case Managers.



Position Summary:

? Receive inpatient requests via fax, phone, or electronically and enters data of the new case information into the medical management system

? Assist the inpatient Case Manager in gathering medical records, obtaining appropriate coding for diagnosis and procedures, discharge dates, dispositions, and conducts follow up phone calls per concurrent review team standards.

? Provide effective, efficient and courteous interaction with facilities, providers, members and their family, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

? Other administrative assistance as needed



Minimum Qualifications:

? 2 years of Concurrent Review / authorizations experience

? Hospital background helpful

? Knowledgeable in Concurrent Review protocols pertaining to referral matters

? Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and in writing

? Well versed in Medical terminology.

? ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.

? Medi-Cal benefits and regulations knowledge

? Computer literate

? Bilingual English / Spanish a plus

? High school diploma or equivalent required
