Prominent global pharmaceutical company is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner to work in Thousand Oaks, CA.
This is a 12 month temporary assignment with a possibility of extension/temp-to-hire.
Max pay is 55.75/hour.
Summary:
This position is responsible for the providing occupational and non-occupational clinical care for company staff.
Essential Functions:
Medical management of work related injury and illness and facilitation of return to work, using appropriate restrictions when needed
Monitor and manage workers? compensation cases. This includes provision of initial evaluation, treatment of all injuries and illnesses, and ongoing evaluation and treatment until case is resolved.
Ensure Occupational Health Services (OHS) compliance with State, Federal, and OSHA medical guidelines.
Provides fitness-for-duty evaluations for staff returning to work, as necessary.
Provides initial health and psychological counseling and appropriate referrals as indicated.
Provide clinical support of clinic functions such as medical surveillance, international travel health consultations, immunization campaigns, Hepatitis B prevention, tuberculosis screening etc.
Enter medical documentation in electronic medical records system.
Act as a resource for management and employees regarding occupational health policies and procedures.
Comply with ethical, legal, professional requirements, applicable regulations, and corporate policies and procedures.
Comply with quality assurance for all medical issues and assist in the solution of any medical problems.
Respond to medical emergencies for the site and provide immediate care and evaluation when needed.
Assist clinic manager in identifying, analyzing and resolving work problems.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the general public.
Communicate and work with medical staff to ensure coordinated efforts for the provision of high quality medical treatment and client service.
Requirements:
Current valid California NP or PA license with prescriptive authority
BCLS/ACLS certification
At least 5 years' clinical experience as mid-level provider
Previous experience with electronic medical records
Experience with workers compensation case management and OSHA regulations
Experience with audiometry and spirometry
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to motivate and work effectively with others
Strong clinical skill set and the ability to rapidly prioritize responsibilities in response to the needs of the staff population
Knowledge of common occupational safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Skill in developing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
Computer literacy in Microsoft office
