The Specialty Sales Consultant Neuroscience is responsible for direct promotion of Jazz Pharmaceuticals' products, and the development and management of business relationships with therapeutic specialists within an assigned geographical territory. The Specialty Sales Consultant (SSC) is an integral part of the commercial team that includes all personnel dedicated to the sales and marketing functions. The Specialty Sales Consultant will implement Jazz Pharmaceuticals' marketing strategies and marketing tactics to achieve short-term and long-term objectives. This position is within The Sleep Business Unit, reports directly to a Regional Sales Manager. Major Duties /Responsibilities: - Calls on targeted customers and accounts in order to promote Jazz products in accordance with approved methods.
- Develop territory plan to allow proper call reach and frequency, maintaining pre and post-call notes and an accurate database.
- Use approved resources to grow rapport with key physicians.
- Focuses on customer needs and creates business opportunities.
- Demonstrate ongoing working relationships with other key departments (marketing, managed markets, Commercial Operation, human resources, etc.).
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Jazz Pharmaceuticals products.
- Promote positive company image at every opportunity in compliance with OIG, PhRMa, FDA, PDMA and Company guidelines.
- Identify the decision makers and key contacts within physician's office accounts and hospital accounts to establish and maintain effective business relationships.
- Develop advocates for the Jazz Pharmaceuticals brands from key thought leaders and decision makers within relevant markets.
- Evaluates progress vs. plan monthly and agrees to course of corrections with manager where necessary.
- Plan and manage budget in order to maximize business opportunities while not exceeding given budget.
- Provides feedback to product/ sales management on competitor activity.
- Establishes and maintains professional relationships with targeted medical centers, hospital pharmacies, physicians, medical staff, and others.
- Plans and conducts effective meetings with targeted customers and peers.
- Prepares various reports and presentations for corporate clients, peers and management.
- Develop and implement special programs within territory to maximize sales opportunities, i.e. speaker's bureau programs, symposia, etc.
- Develops and/ or maintains permanent customer records, ensuring accuracy.
- Completes all administrative tasks in a timely manner.
- Communicates effectively with customers, peers and management.
- Complies with federal/ state/ local regulations regarding drug samples, and complies with Jazz Pharmaceuticals promotional practices.
- Continuously develops and improves product knowledge, communication, and selling skills through self-learning and active participation in agreed training programs.QUALIFICATIONS Four year college/university degree or equivalent is required
- Post-graduate business school study, training is preferred
- Must have a minimum of three years of pharmaceutical sales experience
- At least two years of specialist sales experience is preferred (i.e. pain physicians, hospitals, clinics, anesthesiology, and/or related specialties)
- Central Nervous System therapeutic sales experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of product(s); competitor product(s); and applicable disease states desired
- Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills, and strong planning and organizational skills are required
- Self-motivation and ability to excel in a team environment
- Ability to travel to meet territorial requirements with frequent overnight stay
