We are looking for an Outpatient ER Technician to join our team!******WE ARE OFFERING A $1,500 SIGNING BONUS FOR THIS ROLE!****** *****$1,500 RELOCATION BONUS MAY APPLY FOR HIGHLY QUALIFIED REGISTERED TECHNICIANS RELOCATING WITHIN THE PARKER COLORADO AREA!*******We have a variety of schedule options for this position, including day and swing shift, to be discussed further during the interview process. Training days/hours TBD* **This position will pay $25-$34 hourly DOE* **At least ONE YEAR of experience is required to be considered for this role!** **CVT/RVT Required!**Overall Responsibility: The outpatient ER Technician's primary responsibility is to triage patients as they present to the Emergency Room according to triage levels. Assess pets and provide immediate life saving care under the direction of the ER doctor as required for critical patients. Provides history, vitals, and concerns to doctors to assist in the timely and appropriate management of emergency patients. Works with float technicians and assistants to perform diagnostics, execute treatment plan and/or hospitalize the patient. Communicates medical updates, financials, and treatment plans to owners. Essential Job Responsibilities: - Provides excellent patient care to every patient
- Triage patients as they come into the ER with appropriate medical decision making and escalation to ER doctor as appropriate.
- Obtaining history and vital signs of the pet
- Assist DVM's with exams, treatments and procedures
- Immediately respond to STAT calls and follow the appropriate patient care protocols
- Perform standard technician duties including patient restraint, venipuncture, SQ Fluids, radiographs, medication administration as ordered by a Veterinarian, obtain and process laboratory samples, handle and dispense medications by veterinarian orders
- Perform sedation and anesthesia according to established hospital protocols (induction, maintenance, monitoring and recovery).
- Maintain accurate paperless medical records utilizing EzyVet and Smartflow
- Demonstrate working knowledge of financial and charging practices including creating estimates and discussing with the owners, collecting payment and discharging patients.
- Collaborate with all departments across the hospital to ensure that all patients are receiving the best possible patient care
- Demonstrate compassion and care in all interactions
