Job Description US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED#LI-JL2The successful candidate will perform the radiation analysis and engineering efforts to establish the basis for the selection, development, evaluation, analysis, testing, and documentation of radiation effects in electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) parts and circuits for operational spacecraft and their payloads.The Enterprise Assurance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers critical assurance disciplines that protect and enable people, data and missions. We apply the use of innovative tools and robust processes to ensure mission and business success.What You'll Do: - Be personally mentored, trained, and guided, one-on-one, by two Staff Consultant Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and a Technical Fellow SME (with over 60 years of combined direct Radiation Engineering experience) in the Mission Systems Assurance (MSA) Systems Radiation Effects and Charging Assurance department, to further your technical and professional development and grow your career.
- Perform, generate and be responsible for Total Ionization Dose (TID), Single Event Effects (SEE), and Displacement Damage Dose (DDD) radiation analysis reports in accordance with customer requirements or BAE standard practices.
- Review part lists against program requirements to assess radiation TID, SEE, DDD, and Enhanced Low Dose Rate Sensitivity (ELDRS).
- Support TID, SEE, and DDD radiation evaluation test campaigns of EEE parts for operational spaceflight hardware, including the development of radiation test plans and procedures, conducting radiation testing with laboratories and universities, and generating radiation analysis reports.
- Work closely with circuit-design teams and system-level teams to determine radiation impacts and ensure compliance to program radiation requirements.
- Review subcontracted electronics units for compliance to program radiation requirements and document the review summary and conclusions.
- Interface with program teams and program managers to ensure assigned tasks align with program schedule and delivery and employ strong presentation skills to convey radiation design risks at program milestone reviews.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 4 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- 4 or more years of continuous, related, progressive experience in the radiation effects of EEE parts.
- Experience with calculating and a strong fundamental understanding of radiation effects (TID, SEE, DDD, and ELDRS).
- Experience and a working knowledge of applicable industry and / or academic practices and standards in EEE parts and radiation effects.
- Experience writing clear and concise reports.
- Knowledge of test board design, test facilities, and data analysis is required.A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
