Job Type: RegularThe Global and Emerging Risks (GER) Division is seeking a Research Operations Administrator II (ROA) who will serve in the division Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator role and be responsible for executing a wide variety of activities to oversee, track, and record the progress of assets through the QA and publications processes.Under limited direction and supervision of GER management, the ROA will perform various tasks related to QA and publications including, but not limited to: - Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a tracking system for the QA/Pubs process in Workfront or similar software, in coordination with the division operations team and in concert with Corporate systems development.
- Liaise with reviewers, authors, the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM), and center management teams to drive the execution of the QA process, including: preparing the publication package for submission to Publications, obtaining approvals from various stakeholders, including authors, reviewers, GER management, and the QAM, and maintaining QA tracking databases.
- Develop, communicate, and document QA processes and timelines with authors, QAMs, division leadership, and CEA, with support from QAMs in atypical situations, and communicate any changes to that timeline.
- Generate requisitions and payments for external peer reviewers.
- Coordinate and meet regularly with various departments, particularly Communications and External Affairs (CEA), for final publication.
- Perform other tasks as directed, such as provide status updates, create and update templates and procedures, occasionally record or summarize project kick-off meetings, update division intranet pages, format documents, etc.
- Work closely with the GER QAM, CEA, Division production editor, Office of the Chief of Public Affairs, and other supporting elements in the QA and publications process.
- Ensure documents meet attribution guidance, either directly in iThenticate or through the Attribution Service Desk.Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly with tact and diplomacy verbally and in writing with internal and external parties at all levels, including internal management and other RAND divisions/teams. Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and process management skills; strong attention to detail; proactive and able to prioritize time-sensitive tasks.
- High level of discretion, integrity, and organization
- Consistently meets deadlines and ability to multi-task.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel (including working with formulas), Outlook, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and the ability to learn and manage Workfront.Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience; 6 years preferredEducation
