Chemours is seeking a Chemical Engineer Co-opto join our Ore Process Technology team! This position will report directly to the Ore Technology Leader .
As a Chemical Engineer Co-op, you will work closely with the Titanium Technologies team gaining valuable experience through hands-on projects in a chemical plant . You will have exposure to real-time engineering work alongside other engineers to apply what you've learned in the classroom.
Effective engineering co-ops will have the ability to communicate with impact , have strong self-awareness, and will be naturally inquisitive.
Location: Chemours Discovery Hub (CDH) , Delaware
Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
Preferred First Term: Jan - Jun 202 5
Candidates must be able to commit to at least a total of six (6) months as a co-op. Two (2) or more terms may be required.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work ing with experienced R&D professionals on process technology developmental projects
- Participating in process safety management activities and reviews
- Contributing to team meetings and conference calls
- Supporting multiple projects with data analysis
- Developing data analysis tools
- Data recordkeeping and organization consistent the Chemours policies for protection of intellectual property
- Lab work include design, operation, and optimization of lab-scale unit operations such as reactors , crystallizers , distillation columns, filtration , rotary kiln dryer, and mixers
The following is required for this role :
- Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Grade Level or above at time of assignment
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or similar fields
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
The following is preferred for this role :
- Participation in relevant activities , organizations, and projects beyond the classroom
- 3.0 GPA or above
- Previous experience (industrial or academic projects) with the following chemical processes: reaction engineering, thermodynamics, titration, and distillation .
