Position Summary:

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for ensuring the safety and supervision of our clients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Behavioral Health histories. The DSP facilitates healthy and socially acceptable behaviors in community-based settings. This role includes coordinating with clinical staff, implementing residential interventions, and assisting clients in achieving their clinical goals. The DSP is also responsible for fulfilling the obligations outlined in each client's program plan. They will prompt or assist clients as needed to ensure participation in daily living activities, both at home and in the community. Commitment to RHD values is essential in performing job duties.

Essential Duties and Functions:

Direct Care:

- Supervise individuals according to their Person-Centered Support Plan
- Administer medication as needed
- Support clients in activities of daily living, such as meal preparation, toileting, and personal hygiene
- Assist in community integration activities and access to community supports, including medical appointments and social security access

Administrative:
- Complete required documentation in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Basic computer and internet literacy, with the ability to use applications such as email, time recording, and other programs necessary for the job
- Prior experience in the human services field preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Subject to employment screenings, including FBI clearance, if applicable
