This position will report directly to the leaders of the Particle Characterization Laboratory . This position will support research and development activities in the Titanium Technologies business and will focus on analytical and/or process development in particle characterization. Location: Newark, DE Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week OR Term : 3 -month assignment between May-August 2025 The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: - Prepare slurries, dispersions, and other samples as needed
- Characterizing samples using various particle characterization methods
- Assisting in method optimization and developing best practices for emerging experimental techniques
- Data analysis and method troubleshooting
- Documentation and reporting of results to technical staff
- Working collaboratively in team environment
- Abiding by safe laboratory practices
T he following is required for this role : - Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Junior or above at time of assignment
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn new techniques and methods
- Previous laboratory experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
The following is preferred for this role : - 3.0 GPA or above
- Prior experience with particle characterization techniques
- Understanding of surface science, interfacial phenomena, and/or aerosol science
- Basic understanding of statistical techniques
