Location: Kent Campus HospitalStatus: Full Time 72 hours (bi-weekly)Shift: DaysGeneral Summary:The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner is a Registered Nurse (RN) who influences professional role competence and professional growth in an interprofessional environment that facilitates continuous development and learning for the healthcare professionals. The NPD Practitioner implements the tools, skills, and knowledge of the specialty to improve healthcare practice of learners through seven distinct roles: learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific-inquiry, advocate for role development, and partner for collaboration and practice transitions.This particular RN Nursing Professional Development Professional will support our Critical Care ICU and Neuro ICU at our Kent campus in Dover.Responsibilities:1. Facilitator of Learning - a. Develop and evaluate core curricula b. Assess learning needs through assessment and analysis of feedback outcomes c. Lead experiential learning activities through innovative teaching and learning methods.2. Change Agent - Foster acceptance, adoption, and action toward change.3. Mentor and Leader - a. Validates clinical performance b. Establish effective communication networks with unit and organizational leadership.4. Champion Scientific Inquiry - Create a supportive environment for nursing research, evidence-based practice, quality improvement and integrating into clinical practice.5. Advocate for role development - a. Facilitate orientation processes, nurse residency program, and role transitions with a focus on retention and growth.'Develops, coordinates, and evaluates competency programs and identifies deficiencies in staff competency.6. Partner for Collaboration and Practice Transitions - a. Collaborates with interprofessional teams, leaders, stakeholders and others to facilitate nursing practice and positive outcomes both internally and within the community. b. Partners with shared governance councils at the unit and system level to effect nursing practice and generate positive outcomes.7. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilitiesRequired Education, Credential(s) and Experience:Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program/university with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing BSNCredential(s): Registered Nurse RN license in good standing.Basic Life Support BLSCertification related to the position within specified timeframe as indicated by manager and department(s) assigned.Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical RN nursing experience.Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:Education: Master Degree Nursing MSNCredential(s): Nursing Professional Development board certificationExperience: 5 or more years of relevant clinical nursing experience, with 3 of those years including relevant teaching experienceTo view a full list of all open position at Bayhealth, please visit:by Jobble More...
