Location: Kent Campus HospitalStatus: Full Time 80 HoursShift: VariableSALARY RANGE: 34.27 - 56.01HOURLYGeneral Summary:The Professional Cardiovascular Tech (CVT) performs multiple roles within the Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Neurology laboratories including, but not limited to, assisting physician(s) with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, diagnostic and interventional peripheral procedures, endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR), electrophysiology procedures (ablations, implantable cardiac defibrillator insertions/revisions, pacemaker insertions/revisions, EP studies, loop recorder insertions, structural heart procedures: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) and interventional neurology procedures: carotid stenting, stroke thrombectomy, cerebrovascular aneurysm embolization, and transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR). Responsibilities include conducting various cardiac tests to monitor patients' heart and blood vessel conditions using diverse cardiology equipment, preparing procedure rooms, prepping patients for procedures, obtaining and recording patient information, assisting physicians in procedure by circulating and scrubbing procedures, X-ray fluoroscopy proficiency, acquiring/measuring/calculating hemodynamic data, performing blood work analyses, and operating intra-cardiac ultrasound. Directs and practices safety guidelines for themselves, staff, and patients. Independently functions during diagnostic and interventions procedures. Maintains a high level of expertise in specialty procedures within their assigned lab. Within the Cath Lab, this may include structural heart procedures and hemodynamics; within Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, technologists perform device and electrophysiology procedures (EP), and operate 3D mapping systems. Within the Interventional Neurology Lab, technologists perform carotid stenting, stroke thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, and other neuro-interventional procedures.Will be required to work varied hours, shift lengths, and respond to an on-call pager, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.Responsibilities:1. Assists in preparing the patient for the procedure and set up and preparation of rooms, prior to beginning procedures, to provide for safe, efficient delivery of care. Assures that proper documentation/consent is present in the chart prior to the procedure start time.2. The Technologist obtains hemostasis safely after a procedure.3. Utilizes x-ray equipment accurately and independently.4. Accurately monitors and documents coronary and peripheral procedures performed in the Cath Lab in the MacLab and CardioLab system.5. Independently scrubs diagnostic and interventional coronary and peripheral procedures.6. Takes ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) call.7. Assists Cath Lab team with procedure room turnover after every procedure following Infection Control protocol.8. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in education, workshops, in-services, and current literature. Maintains required certifications and completes yearly unit and hospital mandatories prior to performance evaluation.9. Actively participates in the preceptorship of new staff members.10. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:Education: Associate Degree Cardiovascular Technology; Or Associates Degree/graduate from accredited program in Radiologic Technology.Credential(s): Basic Life Support; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support; Registered Technologist, Radiography; RCIS or RCESExperience: Required:Two (2) years' experience within the Cardiac Cath Lab performing the four modalities: Cath, Electrophysiology, Peripheral and Interventional Neurology.Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:Education: Bachelor Degree Radiologic Technology Or Bachelor's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology.Credential(s): Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist RCES or RTR (CI).Experience: Preferred: Three (3) years' experience within the Cardiac Cath Lab, performing cardiac diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiological procedures.To view a full list of all open position at Bayhealth, please visit:by Jobble More...
