Chemours is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our growing Titanium Technologies Ore Technology team. This position will be available at the Chemours Discovery Hub and report directly to the Lab Supervisor. As part of the group, this role is dedicated to the improvement of existing processes and the development of new processes related to TiO2 manufacturing. The research spans a variety of process technologies, such as, neutralization, pressure filtration, drying, wet chemistry, etc. Desire to work in a dynamic research environment is a plus. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: - Perform assorted tasks in a chemistry lab, including, but not limited to
- Safe handling of hazardous chemicals
- Solid/liquid separations (e.g. pressure filtration, flocculation, settling)
- Heat treatments of materials in ovens
- Titrations, manual or automatic
- pH and other electrode-based measurements
- Sample prep and submission to various other labs for further testing
- Managing lab services as required (e.g. equipment inspections, certifications)
- Assembling and operating lab scale process equipment for solids, liquids, and slurries
- Data recordkeeping and organization consistent the Chemours policies for protection of intellectual property.
The following is required for this role: - BS/Associate degree in Chemistry or equivalent experience
- Chemistry lab experience
- Spreadsheet creation and data analysis
