Chemours is seeking a Senior Mine Engineer to join our growing Resource and Business Development team! This position will report directly to the Engineering and Mine Acquisition Strategy Manager. The Senior Mining Engineer role is a full-time position that will support the Engineering Team and Minerals Operations by analyzing mineral deposits and creating financial models, developing long term mine plans and reviewing and upgrading short term mine plans as developed by the mine planning team, creating maps, interacting with land owners, supervising a team of mine engineers and surveyors, and leading projects. This role will include key communications with multiple mining operations divisions to provide strategic recommendation, mapping, planning, geologic, economics, and engineering support. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: - Ensure compliance to all MSHA, Environmental and company rules and policies
- Develop and maintain geologic block models, and produce cash-based models of current and future deposits to establish dynamic ore cutoff grades necessary to meet financial objectives
- Financial modeling associated with future deposits, business strategy, and business opportunities
- Oversee development and implementation of long-term, and life-of-mine reserve and production plans to meet operational objectives, such as: optimizing mine production, lowering costs, limiting environmental legacies, and improving safety
- Provide GIS maps including forecasting, topography, permitting, reclamation, monthly and annual reporting
- Lead and mentor a team of short and long term mine engineers/mine planners and surveyors
- End to end Yield Analysis
- Mentor other mine engineers on aspects of Mineral Sands mining and keep up to date with mining practices
The following is required for this role: - Bachelor's Degree in Mine Engineering or Geology
- 10+ years mining industry experience required
- High level analytical and strategic thinking ability
- Proven mine planning, reserve calculation, and financial modeling capabilities
- Mastery of Microsoft Office, GIS mapping, ArcGIS, Vulcan or AutoCAD software
