Under the direction of the Chief Estimator, the Civil Estimators primary responsibility is to analyze and interpret project information in the assembly of budgets, bids, and proposals.Benefits:

    • Evaluate proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to understand the project as a whole.
    • Work closely with the construction project manager to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors.
    • Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits.
    • Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to determine overall cost for construction projects.
    • Produce written proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and updates for clients and project managers.
    • Provide accurate takeoff information with a detailed list of materials and total construction costs.
    • Solicit subcontractor, vendor, and equipment supplier information and pricing.
    • Review and estimate change orders and other cost impacts.
    • Follow up with clients on submitted proposals and budgets.Position Competencies:
      • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines.
      • Ability to work with limited supervision to complete assigned tasks.
      • Detail-oriented with the ability to focus on quality and accuracy.
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Education, Experience, Licenses, & Certifications:
        • Bachelors degree in civil engineering, accounting, construction management, or related field.
        • At least 2 years of civil estimating experience or 5 years of civil construction field experience.
        • Thorough knowledge of construction practices and procedures.
        • Experience with utilities, storm piping, and FDOT specifications.
        • Understanding of risk analysis and estimation metrics.
        • Proficient in estimating software, such as HCSS, Bid2Win, or similar.
        • Proficient in O365 and Adobe Acrobat.Physical Requirements:
          • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
